You should ask for Pepperells because:
We cover all aspects of Criminal Law Defence, including but not limited to; Health and Safety matters, Trading Standards, Benefit Agency investigations, local authorities and other regulatory bodies.
More than 90 per cent of criminal cases are dealt with by the Magistrates Court. Even in other cases, the accused will appear in the Magistrates Court to be committed to a higher court.
Our attendance in the Magistrates Court is required for defence work for the following: - Theft, Burglary, Assault, Sex, Criminal Damage, Road Traffic Offences, Speeding, Drink Driving, Motor Vehicle, DVLA offences.
People involved in a civil or criminal case may be eligible for financial assistance to help pay court costs and legal fees under the legal funding scheme. We assist and prepare all aspects of the case for the Magistrates Court to minimise any problems.
Offences that are “Indictable Only” or “Triable Either Way” which are so serious they can only be dealt with in a Crown Court.
Where not guilty pleas are entered, the Trial is held before a Jury of 12 ordinary people who decide whether the case is proven beyond reasonable doubt based on the evidence presented to them at Trial. We work closely with carefully selected Barristers for our clients to present the strongest defence case and secure the best outcomes possible.
The more serious cases such as rape, robbery, drugs, armed offences and murder are all tried at the Crown Court.
If you have been convicted of a crime and you have grounds for appeal, these are taken to the Court of Appeal in London. The Appeal hearing takes place before judges (not a jury).
Having Pepperells as your legal representation means that we will analyse your case to see if any errors have occurred in either Law or Procedure and advise upon any merit in pursuing an appeal. We can also prepare any necessary documentation and case notes for the appeal along with supporting you through the process to its conclusion.
